Permanence
Permanence is defined as "the state or quality of lasting or remaining unchanged indefinitely". I was thinking about permanence and what is permanent in my life because sometimes it seems as if every day is completely different. It's kind of frustrating to think about all the things that have not been permanent in my life. A few in particular: close friends, schools, places lived, people I talk to, jobs, and I'm sure there are others. However, when I started listing things that weren't permanent, I began to realize how many things that are permanent in my life, and that list may not be much longer, but it has greater importance. I see my family and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints being the two most important things in my life, and thankfully, they are permanent things. I will always have my family, that's a given. And the true church on the earth, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, isn't going anywhere either. This knowledge brought me great comfort when I realized it. I wonder what other people see as permanent things in their life, and I wonder if they see those same things as being the most important. I hope all people have something permanent in their life because I'm thinking an ever changing life would not be an enjoyable one.
