Eight Hours of the Word of God. Yessss.

This weeked was the 181st General Conference weekend and it was fantastic. President Monson is such a great prophet. I feel the Spirit so strongly when he speaks. I also love President Uchtdorf; he's probably my favorite. The way he speaks is so inspiring and he speaks of things that are so memorable, it's no wonder he's my favorite. I knew he was my favorite after he gave the talk "Your Happily Ever After." I actually had the privelidge of being at the conference center with the Lindahl's when he gave this talk to the Young Women of the church.

A week ago, the Relief Society of the church had a general meeting and President Uchtdorf gave another incredible talk. This is why forget me not flowers are pretty much the designated flower of the church. At least in my mind!

One of my favorite talks from this weekend was a talk given by Neil L. Anderson. It was about how we need to be in the world but not of the world. He spoke of how some young couples are waiting to have children until after they have their careers. But what these couples are forgetting is multiplying and replenishing the earth is a commandment from God. We need to have faith that even though it may seem difficult to have children because of expenses and timing, the Lord will guide us and help us if we are faithful to Him.

Now I know this may seem silly that I loved this talk when I'm not even married, but I love that we're counseled to be different. I like dressing modestly even when it's different. I love going to church for three hours on Sunday's and not shopping or doing anything that wouldn't keep the Sabbath Day holy. I love keeping the Word of Wisdom by not drinking or smoking or putting unclean things into my body. I love having a testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and how this knowledge guides me in this crazy world. I love knowing the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and is word of God. I like being different because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know this church is the true and I'm so happy to be a member. I loved this weekend and I am already looking forward to the April conference. :)
